Ressler retires
Army Brigadier General Eugene K. Ressler recently retired from active duty after 40 years of service.
A 1974 Northampton Area High School graduate, Ressler graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
He served in Afghanistan, Germany, Korea, Egypt and various duty stations in the continental U.S. He most recently served as faculty and chief of the department of electrical engineering and computer science at West Point.
Ressler holds a master's degree from U.C. Berkeley and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. He is recognized as an Army expert in cyber security.
Upon retirement, he received the Distinguished Service Medal and two awards recognizing his roll in the establishment of the Army Cyber Command Center at West Point.
He and his wife, Friederika, are relocating to New York City where he will be employed by Google.
Their daughter, Julia,, lives in Connecticut and son, Daniel, lives in Maryland.
Ressler is the son of Eugene and Dorothy Ressler of Walnutport.
His brother Stephen, also retired from the U.S. Army, lives in Bethlehem and his sister Dianne lives in Florida.
