Penn State Extension is offering a web seminar on becoming involved in politics.

The "Toss Your Hat in the Ring," seminar will be presented 7-9 p.m. on Feb. 9.

The program includes an overview of Pennsylvania local government and the responsibilities of a township supervisor, borough council member and school board director, along with instructions on how to run including filing a petition, reporting campaign expenses and other important information.

The focus of the seminar is understanding the roles, responsibilities and personal rewards of public service.

In addition to the web seminar, Penn State Extension is offering a two-hour workshop version of the program in 16 locations.
