Frederick H. Hirschel, III, 66, of Macungie, died Jan. 25, 2015, in his residence. He was the husband of Brenda L. (Bortz) Hirschel. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Myrtle (Ott) Hirschel and Frederick H. Hirschel, II.

He worked as an assistant manager for M.W. Wood and previously worked for Bethlehem Steel and Lehigh Valley Railroad.

He was a member of St. Peter's Union Church, Macungie.

He is survived by his wife; son, James L. and his wife Stacey, of Deer Lake; daughter, Korey and her husband Michael J.H. Schaffer, of New Tripoli; granddaughter, Brittney; stepgrandson, Eric Neiser; brother, Richard; sisters, Kathy Edmonson and Rosalie Rago; beloved dogs, Misty and Toby.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Jan. 30 in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. A viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
