Jan. 22: Middle School Parent University, Orefield Middle Sschool Auditorium, 6-7 p.m. Tracy Smith, assistant to the superintendent for Operations, will make a presentation on the district's Open Campus Initiative.
Jan. 23: All schools dismiss early. High school and middle school at 1 p.m. Elementary at 1:45 p.m.
Springhouse Middle School "Get Up and Move Dance-a-thon," 6-9 p.m. is a fundraiser to support the Springhouse Middle School Partnership by providing additional funds for field trips, ARP auction, eighth grade celebration, game night and to raise funds in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This event will feature: DJ organized dances, Wii Dance, Hoops for Hope (basketball free throws), Race for The Cure Relay Races (sack races, dice relay), Zumba, Hula Hoop contest, Photo Booth (for a small additional fee) and surprise guest appearance by local celebrity.
Jan. 28: "Are You Smarter than a Teacher?"in high school library, 3-4:30 p.m. For the third year, the Spanish Honor Society and National Honor Society are joining forces for a highly competitive afternoon of "Are you Smarter than a Teacher?" All faculty and staff are invited to challenge the students to a match.
Jan. 30 and 31: Winter Play, "An Evening with Tennessee Williams," high school auditorium, 7:30 p.m. One of the most prolific playwrights of the modern era, Tennessee Williams also penned volumes of short plays and one acts that feature remarkable characters.
