David W. Skeath

David W. Skeath, 74, of Orefield, died Jan. 14, 2015, in the Lehigh Valley Hospice Unit. He was the husband of Jo-An (Klucharich) for 51 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Robert and Evelyn (Sterner) Skeath.

He was a 1958 graduate of Allentown High School, where he was class president and captain of the undefeated 1957 football team. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in mechanical engineering and applied physics from Harvard University and a master's degree in business from Lehigh University.

He was a registered professional engineer. He retired from PPL after 36 years of service, where he worked in various executive positions.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.

He coached 85 pounders football for the Fullerton Athletic Association. He was a mentor for the Junior Achievement program.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, David and his wife Linda of Lake Villa, Ill., Tim and his wife Cathie of Emmaus and Karen and her husband Greg Kemper of Orefield; six grandchildren, Alyssa and Sarah Skeath, and Gregory, Alex, Eric and Jacob Kemper; a brother, Albert H. Skeath of Allentown; and a sister-in-law, Diane Skeath of Neffs.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert N. Skeath.
