Norman H. Smith

Norman H. Smith, 93, formerly of Allentown, died Jan. 1, 2015, at Whitehall Manor. He was the husband of the late Geraldine G. (Unangst) Smith. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Albert and Maude (Ferrell) Smith.

Before retiring in 1982, he worked for over 20 years at Fuller Co. as a resident engineer. Prior, he was a self-employed construction contractor.

He was a master craftsman who enjoyed wood- working and photography.

He was a proud veteran. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy and during the Korean War in the U.S. Army, where he received a Bronze Star. He held the rank of chief warrant officer for the National Guard and Army Reserves.

He was a member of the Masonic Fraternity.

He is survived by a daughter, Donna L. and her husband George C. Galanti, of Macungie; son, Larry R. and his companion JM Miles, of California; brother, Harold "Babe;" sister-in-law, Alethia "Dolly;" three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Center for Vision Loss, 845 W. Wyoming St., Allentown, 18103.

Arrangements were made by the Trexler Funeral Home, Allentown.
