Lewis L. Lagler

Lewis L. Lagler, 83, of Allentown, died Jan. 11, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Jeanette (Smith) Lagler. The couple would have celebrated 63 years of marriage Jan. 19. Born in Powder Valley, he was the son of the late Frank and Annie (Stahl) Lagler.

He was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church, Zionsville, where he had served as a lay leader and served on the board of trustees. He was a board member of Milford Park Camp Meeting Association and was an active member of Stahl's Pottery Preservation Society.

He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War.

He was an assistant manager at Pep Boys having worked in both the Allentown and Whitehall locations over his 30 plus years with the company until his retirement in 1986. Following retirement, he worked part time at the Whitehall Mall.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Dale M. and his wife Valencia, of Lehighton and Gary A. and his wife Carol, of Alburtis; brother, Jerald; sister, Darlene Skinner; grandchildren, Lauren Raimunde, Tricia Flamm, Jenniffer and Benjamin; great-granddaughter, Rose Flamm. He was predeceased by a brother, Franklin.

Contributions may be made to the church, 18092.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Jan. 17, Salem United Methodist Church, 6440 Powder Valley Road, Zionsville. A viewing will be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus, and 10:30 to 11 a.m. Jan. 17 in the church.
