William F. Meltsch

William "Willy" F. Meltsch, 87, of Northampton, died Dec. 26, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Pauline "Polly" (Stubits) Meltsch for 57 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Yagerhofer) Meltsch.

He was in the U.S. Army Air Force.

He was a skilled clothing cutter at the former Cross Country Clothes for many years. After he retired, he worked for Scott Chevrolet for 12 years.

He was a member of Queenship of Mary Church.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society, and was a bingo volunteer for the last 40 years. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 454, the American Legion Post 353 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714. He was a member of the Fullerton Fire Company and the Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William A. and his wife Marie Noelle of Barnegat, N.J.; two grandchildren, Cassandra and William J.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a baby son, John Anthony; six brothers, John, Joseph, Robert, Louis, Charles and Frank; and three sisters, Rose Strobl, Mary Rossner and Theresa Meltsch.
