Mary E. Kalamar, 89, of Hokendauqua, died Dec. 21, 2014, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of Joseph Kalamar for 66 years.
Born in Hokendauqua, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Tutko) Pavlovchin.
She was a 1949 graduate of Whitehall High School.
She was a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, Whitehall, for many years until she retired.
She was a member of the St. John Fisher Catholic Church, North Catasauqua.
She was a member of the ladies auxiliary, the Marian Guild and the altar and rosary society of the former St. Andrew's R.C. Church, North Catasauqua.
She was a founding member of the Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association. She was on the board of elections in Hokendauqua.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Joseph "Jack" J. and his wife Alice of Davenport, Fla.; two daughters, Gina and her husband James Filipovits of Northampton and Patricia "Tish" and her husband James McCormick of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren, Amanda Kalamar, Eric and Matthew Filipovits, Brian Lelko, Kelly Broeg and Shannon Thomas; and four great-grandchildren.
