It is expected the cost for providing public safety to residents in Northampton will reach $2 million in 2015.
The police department will be allotted $1,721,467. The department has a compliment of 12 officers, including the police chief, detective and sergeant.
The salaries for the patrol officers is pegged at $552,438, including police overtime at $100,000, longevity pay at $16,000, part-time police at $25,000, police salaries reimbursable at $20,000 and holiday compensation at $35,000.
The police chief's salary for next year will be $75,124. Also, the detective will receive $64,846 and the sergeant's position will be set at $66,792.
Although details of the police contract will be made public later, it is not expected to materially change the 2015 police budget.
The fire department's tentative $95,030 budget, up from $87,950 from this year, will include materials and salaries at $11,050. The amount includes costs for oil, gas, tires, vehicle parts, safety supplies and $1,200 for fire prevention materials.
Although the fire department is composed of volunteers, the fire chief in 2015 will receive $3,950; three assistant chiefs will receive $2,000 each; the six captains will get $5,500 and $2,234 is budgeted for 100 public works man hours.
The budget also includes a $8,496 truck payment donation.
The Northampton Regional Emergency Medical Services Inc. is budgeted at $11,000 for materials and supplies, unchanged from 2014.
