Rev. Robert D. Harting, died Dec. 24, 2014, after many years of suffering. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. "Bette" (Aungst) Harting. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Grant and Helen (Harding) Harting.

He was a graduate of Cocalico High School, Catawba College and the Lancaster Theological Seminary. He was a gifted musician, specializing in trumpet and won many awards in high school and college.

He was an ordained minister of the United Church of Christ. He served St. James U.C.C., Allentown, Jerusalem Western Salisbury U.C.C., Allentown, St. Thomas U.C.C., Bethlehem and St. Matthew's U.C.C., Kunkletown.

He served on many boards throughout the Penn Northeast Conference and the community.

He loved all sports, the outdoors and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife; son, Ryan D. and his wife Kristen, of Bethlehem; daughters, Kristen and her husband Scott Sevinsky, of Bethlehem and Kelly and her husband Chris Caflin, of Bethlehem; brother Greg and his wife Cindy, of Reinholds; sister, Carol, of Lancaster; seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Susie Kurtz.
