James R. Dilcher, 75, of Macungie, died Dec. 17, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late James Dilcher and Verna (Bogert) Leiby.

He was a graduate of Allentown High School and worked for Square D and the Humane Society of Lehigh County.

He was a member of the Union Historical Fire Society and was involved with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts at Dubbs U.C.C., in Allentown for many years.

He is survived by sons, Richard J. and his wife Nancy, of Emmaus, and Brian K., of Whitehall; daughter, Kathy and her husband Austin Roth, III, of Lehighton; grandson Adrion, of Chapin, S.C.; great-grandson, Andrew, of Prosperity, S.C. and a sister, Charlotte Becker. He was predeceased by long time companion, Geraldine Gruver.
