Northampton Area School District Superintendent Joseph Kovalchik, center, welcomes new Northampton Area High School boys soccer coaches, Adam Bastidas, head coach, left, and Chad Friend, assistant coach, at the Dec. 15 school board meeting. Board members voted unanimously 9-0 at the meeting to approve the hiring of the coaches for the 2015-16 school year on the recommendation of the administration. Bastidas will be paid $6,596, with no benefits and Friend will be paid $1,921.05, also with no benefits.
