Claude P. Abbott Sr., 84, of Catasauqua, died Dec. 17, 2014, in his residence. He was the husband of Victoria A. (Meixsell) Abbott of Catasauqua for 65 years.

Born in East Lawn, he was a son of the late Pauline Berger.

He was a 1948 graduate of Nazareth High School.

He was a bricklayer and retired as a foreman from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation after 37 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Sandra and her husband Kerry Smith, Robin, and Michele and her husband Richard Soellner; three sons, Claude Jr., Terry and Bryan; a sister, Barbara Grogg; and six grandchildren, Mark, Corey, Jeremy, Jason, Heather and Jessica.
