Gilbert F. Link, Jr.

Gilbert Franklin Link, Jr., 85, of Emmaus, died Dec. 10, 2014, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Sarah A. (Ferguson) Link. They were married for 60 years. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Elizabeth (May) and Gilbert F. Link.

He graduated from Lancaster McCaskey High School in 1947 and obtained his associate degree from Franklin and Marshall College in 1951.

He served overseas in Austria in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953.

He worked for Raub Supply before joining GTE Sylvania where he retired after 35 years as a senior account executive in 1989.

He was a former member of the JCC and was named JCC of the year. He was an avid hunter and angler and enjoyed reading, bowling, tennis, bridge and spending time outdoors at his wife's cabin in central Pennsylvania with family and friends.

He and his wife traveled throughout the U.S. in their RV and wintered in both Naples, Fla. and Brownsville, Texas for more than a decade.

He was a 64 year member of Lamberton Lodge #476 and Emmaus Lodge #792 and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus.

He is survived by his wife; children, Shirley A. Bitler and her son Raymund D., of Williamsport; Gilbert F., of Emmaus; Stuart A. and his wife, Kelly E. (McClain) and their four children, Graham F., Elizabeth M., Garrett F. and Grayson F., of Zionsville; Gail F. and her husband Robert C. Williams and their two children, Sarah E. and Robert G., of Raynham, Mass; one nephew, Gordon L., of Lancaster.

Contributions may be made to the Masonic Charities of Pa., One Masonic Dr., Elizabethtown. 17022 or to a charity of choice.

Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
