William "Bill" C. Arey, 83, of North Catasauqua, died Dec. 4, 2014. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Gillette) Arey for 64 years.

Born in West Catasauqua, he was a son of the late George W. and Sally M. (Frederick) Arey.

He was in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He worked at Bethlehem Steel in the trucking department for 37 years until he retired in 1988. He was a bus driver for the Catasauqua Area School District for 25 years, until 2013 when his illness prevented him from driving. Every Christmas he dressed up as Santa Claus for the bus students.

He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Catasauqua.

He is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth Ann Smurda of Allentown, Barbara and her husband Andrew Hrizuk of Catasauqua, Rose Marie and her husband Charles Pletz of Northampton and Elaine and her husband William Miller of Schnecksville; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four brothers Elwood, Robert, Calvin and Raymond; and three sisters, June Stettler, Betty Good and Sally Fink.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Arey; two brothers, George and Albert; and two sisters, Maude and Pauline.
