Allen Township residents have received an early Christmas gift that includes no tax increases next year.
The board of supervisors unanimously adopted the 2015 budget Dec. 11. The budget retains the current 5-mill property tax rate.
Projected expenditures are pegged at $1.7 million. No big ticket items or major projects are included in the budget.
Supervisors offered little comment on the 2015 budget.
Supervisor Dale Hassler abstained from voting on a section of the budget due to his affiliation with the fire department as a volunteer.
Township Manager Ilene Eckhart said the 2015 budget reserves funding for maintaining roads and an emergency generator for the municipal complex.
Also included is $5,000 for a fire truck fund, which Eckhart explained is for "down the road" purchases.
No money is allocated for police services as the township relies on state police for coverage.
Property taxes, the principal revenue source, are projected at $705,179, along with $21,809 in back real estate taxes.
Earned income taxes are projected to yield $600,000 and the local services tax is expected to generate $35,000.
