David W. Cole, 83, of Emmaus, died Dec. 10, 2014, in his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Mary Jane (Kauffman) Cole, his wife of 54 years. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he was the son of the late Herbert E. Cole and Olive Cole.
He was a member of Bethel Bible Fellowship Church for over 50 years.
He was a land surveyor and construction inspector having served as the Allentown branch manager of a regional engineering firm for many years until his retirement. He was a life member of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors.
After completing the Naval Surveyor School in 1952, he served in the U.S. Navy's Mobile Construction Battalion "Seabees" in both Cuba and Morocco during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife; son, Timothy and his wife Laurie; daughters, Sara and her husband Richard Bordner and Sharon and her husband Timothy Zehr; grandchildren, Ethan and his wife Abby, Rebecca and Michaela Cole, Abigail and Benjamin Conrad, Ashley, Josiah and Nicole Zehr. He was predeceased by a grandson Grant Conrad.
Memorial donations may be made to the church.
