William F. Spaide

William F. Spaide, 75, of Lower Macungie Township, died Dec. 6, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Carol A. (Sunder) Spaide. Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Wilbur A. and Mary A. (Boyle) Spaide.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus.

He was a graduate of St. Peter's College in New Jersey, Class of 1961 and later graduated from Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University, Class of 1974.

He was a federal bank examiner for the F.D.I.C. for 35 years, supervising the Harrisburg and Philadelphia offices until retiring in 1996.

He was appointed and served as a commissioner of Lower Macungie Township from 2008-2009.

He was a member of the White Haven Sportsman Club, the Alburtis Rod & Gun Club and the Elks Club in Hazleton.

He is survived by his wife; children, William F. and his wife Leanne, of Coto de Caza, Calif., Carolyn, of Mechanicville, N.Y., Stephanie, of West Roxbury, Mass., and Elizabeth J. and her husband Michael D. Strohl, of Cohoes, N.Y.; grandchildren, Lauren Cattrone and Emily Sunder Spaide; faithful companion, Paidi.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Dec. 11 in the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus, followed by 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus. A visitation will be held 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
