John R. Cadden, Jr., 86, of Macungie, died peacefully Nov. 18, 2014, at home. He was the husband of Marguerite A. (Zietts) Cadden. They were married for 55 years in November.

He was a freight conductor for Conrail, retiring in 1992 after 42 years of service. Born in Mauch Chunk, he was the son of the late John R. Cadden, Sr. and the late Violet (Eckhart) Cadden.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.

He loved the outdoors and loved to tinker and he could fix anything.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Marguerite A. and her husband Tom Mutchler, of Allentown and Marivi P., of Wescosville; son-in-law, Lew Christman, of Macungie; grandchildren, Laura, Michael and Nicholas Mutchler and Olivia Christman. He was predeceased by a daughter, Suzanne Cadden Christman.

Arrangements were made by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
