Alan I. Wetzel

Alan I. Wetzel, of Warren, formerly of Alburtis, died Nov. 13, 2014, in McKean County. He was the son of the late Arthur S. and Blanche B. (Miller) Wetzel.

He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, served as an SP-4 in the Artillery Division of the U.S. Army, graduated from Kutztown University with a bachelor of science degree in biology.

He helped and supported Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association, worked with wetlands regulation in the Poconos, was a Fish and Wildlife Service biologist at Portland, Ore. and currently a wildlife biologist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture at the Forest Service in Allegheny National Forest-Bradford District.

He is survived by brothers, Stan and his wife Nancy, of Mertztown, Mike, of Bethlehem; sister, Ginny Yeager, of Allentown; nieces, Wendy Yeager Williams, Nicole Yergey and Trisha McGrann; three great-nieces and four great-nephews.
