Students serve at Catholic Worker Farm
Christine Zopf of Northampton volunteered her time as a member of the Misericordia University Honors Program and participated in a day of service at the Dorothy Day Catholic Worker Farm at Harveys Lake, Luzerne County.
The staff and students that volunteered were divided into two shifts to work on the self-sustaining, organic farm that provides produce to people in need. Volunteers harvested beans, split wood and tended to animals.
For their efforts, the farm donated two burlap bags of beans, about 10 pounds of green peppers and 20 pounds of red cabbage for the Catherine McAuley Center in Scranton.
