Ronnie L. "Spike" Oels, 77, of Alburtis, died peace-fully Nov. 19, 2014, in Manor Care, Allen- town. He was the husband of Ruby E. (Oswald) Oels. They were married for 58 years. Born in Alburtis, he was the son of the late Harry and Faye (Moyer) Oels.
He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Alburtis.
He was a mechanic at GE for 39 years. He retired from the East Penn School District as a custodian.
He was a member of the Alburtis Rod and Gun Club and the Alburtis Nimrod Fish and Wildlife Association. He enjoyed hunting, trains, Nascar, Phillies, Eagles and spending time in his cabin in the Poconos.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Deborah M. and her husband Richard Scheirer, of Alburtis; sons, Michael C. and his wife Sherryann, of Alburtis, and Jamie L. and fiancee Shannon, of Allentown; granddaughters, Heather, Lorie, Lydia, Kristy and Alexandrea; eight great grandchildren; sister, Sylvia and her husband Charles Ruff, of Saylorsburg.
