Jemella H. Deeb of Allentown, died Nov. 19, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Dr. Ramon J. Deeb. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary last June. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Philip P. "Bucky" and Freda M. (Saba) Abdalla.

She graduated from Marywood Seminary and earned her business degree from Marywood College in 1960. She worked for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad in the accounting department.

She lived for her children and was a constant fixture at their activities. She enjoyed being at home, entertaining family and friends while surrounded by her beloved pets. She loved animals, but nothing put a smile on her face quite like the site of butterflies.

She was an avid reader and spent many afternoons and late nights devouring best seller after best seller.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Ramon J. Jr. and his wife Sheri, Dr. David P. and his wife Ronda, Michael C. and companion Sandy Santiago; daughter, Monica C.; brother, Dr. Anthony P. Abdalla and his wife Sandra; five grandchildren, Elyssa, Ramon III and Lindsey, Taylor and Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Paisley Mae and Emmagin; godchildren, Lisa Abdalla Springs and husband Kurt, Anthony P. Abdalla and fiance Tanya and J.J. Prorok and wife Eva; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the St. Thomas More Memorial Fund Tuition Reimbursement, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown, 18103.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Nov. 26 St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown. A calling hour will be held 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
