Afton E. Madea, 74, of Macungie, died Nov. 12, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late George E. Madea and the late Robert W. Hildebrand. Born in Somerville, Mass., she was the daughter of the late William Earle and Frances VanDyne (Crone) Forman.

She worked at the Phoebe Home for over 27 years, retiring in 2004.

She was an active member of Faith Free Church, Trexlertown, where she was involved with MOPS and Seniors in Action. She also attended the First Baptist Church of Allentown and participated in the Medi-pack program there.

She is survived by son, William and his wife Judith, of Jim Thorpe; daughter, Angela, and her husband John Berry, of Stafford, Va.; Roseanna, of Fishers, Ind. and Martha, and her husband Russell Brittain, of Fishers, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan Berry, Adam and Autumn, Jackson, Carson and Reece Brittain; several nieces and nephews.

Contributions in her name may be made to First Baptist Church or Faith Free Church for mission work.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Nov. 19 at First Baptist Church of Allentown, 1808 N. 19th St., Allentown. Family and friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Arrangements were made by the Reichel Funeral Home, Inc., Northampton.
