Bertha C. Ballas, formerly of Egypt, died Nov. 3, 2014, at her daughter's home, New Tripoli. She was the wife of the late Stephen R. Ballas.

Born in Ormrod, she was a daughter of the late John and Josephine (Zima) Strongowski.

She was the co-owner of the former Ballas Distributing Company, Northampton.

She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis and his wife Susan and Michael and his wife Elaine of Northampton; a daughter, Susan Heffelfinger of New Tripoli; four grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa, Mary and Theresa; two grandchildren; Kendall and Harper; and a sister, Stella Nederostek of Jim Thorpe.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Bonnie; a son, Gregory; two brothers, Julious and Walter; and three sisters, Catherine Stetler, Florence Wasko and Anna Konapeyus.
