St. John's United Church of Christ, Howertown, 22 Atlas Road, will install the Rev. Peter Unger as its new pastor on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.

Unger has served at St. John's, Easton, in prison ministry and as a VA chaplain. He is the 10th pastor to serve St. John's in its 179-year history.

The Rev. William Seaman will be the guest preacher. PNEC Conference Minister Alan Miller will perform the installation.

A covered dish social will follow in the fellowship hall.

The Allen Township Fire Company is having a filling sale.

Orders can be placed until Nov. 19 by calling 610-262-6308 or 610-262-7726. The filling can be picked up on Nov. 25, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

The East Allen Township Fire Department will hold a variety bingo fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 2, in the social hall, 5354 Nor-Bath Blvd.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and the games begin at 1 p.m.

Prizes will include items from Charming Charlie, Coach, Longaberger, Scentsy, Thirty-One and Vera Bradley. Cash-and-carry items will also be available.
