Harvey S. Zeiss, 67, of Emmaus, died Oct. 23, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Janice (Palser) Zeiss. They were married for 40 years on Aug. 3. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late Jack and Rose (Asanowitz) Zeiss.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He received a bachelor's degree in geology from Hunter College in N.Y.C., NY and his master's degree in geology from Penn State University.
He worked in the sales department at Print-O-Stat, retiring after 23 years.
He was an active member of Emmaus Moravian Church, serving on the board of elders, as a Synod delegate, a Sunday school teacher. He was a Crossroads graduate of Moravian Theological Seminary.
He was a member of the Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #283 F&AM.
He was an assistant Boy Scout Master and earned his Wood Badge award.
He is survived by his wife; son, Geoffrey D. and his wife Adrianne, of Bangor; two grandchildren, Katelyn and Joshua; brother, Philip and his wife Nancy, of Boone, N.C.
Contributions may be made to the church, Crossroads at Moravian Theological Seminary or the Moravian Church Board of Missions.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Oct. 29 in Emmaus Moravian Church, 146 Main St., Emmaus. A viewing will be held 9 to 11 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the Sell-Herron Funeral Home, Allentown.
