Sherwood J. Remaly, 96, formerly of Emmaus, died Oct. 15, 2014, in Above and Beyond, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Ruth E. "Bette" (Wark) Remaly. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Preston H. and Mamie J. (Peter) Remaly.
He was a technician for National Cash Register for 45 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Emmaus Lodge #792 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Allentown and a lifetime member of Citizens Fire Co. #2.
He honorably served his country in the Army during World War II, serving in the Ground Observation Company 593rd Signal Aircraft Warning Battalion.
He is survived by children, Michael P. and his wife Nancy, of Slatington, Anne F. and companion Fred Schiffner, of Schwenksville, Phillip E. and companion Mary Luduca, of Easton, Kathleen J. and her husband Bryan Rupp, of Slatington and Matthew W., of Coopersburg; brother, Samuel, of Whitehall; grandchildren, Jason, Michael John, Adam, Christina, Preston, Ryan and James; great-grandchildren, Zachery, Guinness, Hope, Julie, Vince, Josh, Ravyn and Morgan. He was predeceased by a brother, Arnold.
