Helen Novak, 91, of North Catasauqua, died Oct. 4, 2014, in the Phoebe Home.

Born in Jacksonville, she was the daughter of the late John and Katie (Haluko) Novak.

She was a sewing machine operator at Phoenix Clothing and at Grief Apparel for many years. Previously, she worked at the cigar factory.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Friendly Fifties.

She is survived by four sisters, Sophie Patchinka of Catasauqua, Anna Krawchuk of Philadelphia, Catherine Terleski of Catasauqua, and Margaret Matika of Allentown; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Rose Zwiryk and Mary Mayorak.
