Doris P. Henning, 87, of Allen Township, formerly of Bath and Elmira, N.Y., died Oct. 7, 2014. She was the wife of the Warren L. Henning for 67 years.
Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late James Schaffer and Edith (Siegfried) Schaffer Weiss, and a stepdaughter of the late Edwin M. Weiss.
She was a 1945 graduate of Nazareth High School.
She was an office assistant at various insurance companies throughout the years.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Howertown, where she was on the ladies' auxiliary and friendship class.
She was a volunteer at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, N.Y.; and Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem, where she worked in the gift shop.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Nadine and her husband Steve Jacobs of Bowden, Me., Wanda Powers of Roseville, Calif., and Natalie and her husband Gary Clugston of Slatington; three grandchildren, Ami and her husband Mark Austin of Brewer, Me., Warren Powers of Roseville, Calif. and Christopher Clugston and his fiancee Tory Miksiewicz of Tyrone; a great-granddaughter, Aerynn; a brother, Gerald and his wife Louise Weiss of Nazareth; nieces; and nephews.
