Charles R. Trone

Charles R. Trone, 88, of Wescosville, died Oct. 12, 2014, at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. He was the husband of Mary E. (Hunt) Trone, to whom he was married for 65 years. Born in Bethlehem he was a son of the late George and Ellen (Treubler) Trone.

Before retiring in the 1970's, he owned Protect Alarm after previously working in the security alarm business for Alarm Engineers. In the 1950s, he worked as a contractor.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Allentown.

During World War II, he served in the Navy. He was a member of the Herbert Paul Lentz American Legion Post 29, Allentown, where he served as a past commander, a past chef de gare of Voiture 920 of Lehigh County along with serving as past president for Mid Atlantic 40 and 8 Association, which are organizations for veterans of the United States armed forces.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Terry L. and her husband Robert Sholansky, of Lebanon; brother Harvey and his wife Nora, of Bradford Colo.; grandchildren, Darryl Arnold and his wife Candice, Justin Walker and his wife Stacy, Wendi and her husband Kenneth Gearhart; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Ashten Walker, Waylon Gearhart. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon D. Peters, grandson, Frank J. Szivos; four brothers and four sisters.

Services will be 10 a.m. Oct. 20 at the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown. Calling hours will begin 9 a.m.
