Myrtle E. Arner, 84, of Bethlehem, died Sept. 26, 2014, at The Village at Willow Lane, Macungie. Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Kidden) Semmel. She was the wife of the late Franklin Joseph Arner Jr.

She was a graduate of Lehighton HS and Allentown Business School.

She worked for PPL for several years.

She was also a member of Christ U.C.C. Church of Schoenersville, where she was treasurer, organist and soloist.

She was a former treasurer of the Northwest Little League. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Jessie K. Berlin Memorial Chapter #492, Catasauqua.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandy and her husband Peter Goodrich of Downingtown; a son, Frank Joseph III and his wife Wendy of Coplay; seven grandchildren, Michael, Sean and Kyle Goodrich, Timothy, Kate, Kelly and Zachary Arner; a sister, Edith Lentz of Bowmanstown; and a sister-in-law, Olga Semmel.

She was predeceased by her twin brother, Meryl "Tex" Semmel; ; three sisters, Emma Sorber, Miriam Christman and Evelyn Rudelitsch; and six brothers, Woodrow, George, Robert and Walter Semmel, and Martin and Clayton Green.
