Julia E. Westley

Julia E. (Benner) Westley, 91, of Macungie, formerly of Emmaus, died Sept. 27, 2014, in Lehigh Commons. She was the wife of the late William H. Westley. Born in Sumneytown, she was a daughter of the late Edwin B. and Meda (Erdman) Benner.

She was a graduate of East Greenville High School and Drexel University then worked as a dietician and home economics teacher for many years before retiring.

She was a founder and charter member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus, a member of Perkiomen Chapter #318 Order of the Eastern Star, Red Hill and the Daughter's of the American Revolution.

She is survived by daughters, Meda A., and her husband Michael A. Henry, of Wescosville and Jane B., and her husband Gary W. Oplinger, of Nazareth; grandchildren, Matthew Henry and his wife Breanna, of Allentown, Andrew Henry and his fiancee, Angela Smith, of Breinigsville and Jeffrey and Gregory Oplinger, of Nazareth. She was predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Edwin Benner.

A viewing will be held 9 a.m., an Eastern Star funeral service will be held 9:45 a.m. followed by the funeral service 10 a.m. Oct. 1 at The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus.
