Francine D. Slifer, 81, of Emmaus, died Sept. 28, 2014. She was the wife of Lloyd E. Slifer. She was the daughter of the late Millard R. and Catherine E. Schumaker.
She was a 1951 graduate of Parkland High School and a bookkeeper at the International Ladies Garment Workers office. After moving to Emmaus and starting a family, she worked as a teacher's aide at Lincoln Elementary School, and is remembered fondly by many students. She was an office manager for Slifer, Voice and Shade Court Reporters where her tireless efforts helped to grow a successful business.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Scott and his wife, Christie, of Woodsboro, Md., and Gregory, of Emmaus; daughter, Sally and her husband Jim Ryan, of Coopersburg; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Stacianne and Blake; and Bobby Beck; brother, Donald Schumaker, of Orefield; sister, Louise Bastian, of Emmaus. She was predeceased by a brother Millard Schumaker, Jr., and sister, Leona Miller.

Funeral services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
