Learn the art of Doing-It-Yourself with Penn State Extension's Backyard Homesteading Series.
The "Bread Baking 101" event will take place 2-5 p.m. Nov. 8 at Willow Haven Farm, New Tripoli.
Learn the basics of bread making and how to bake bread that you can't find in the stores with flours like whole wheat, spelt, rye, and kamut.
This is a hands-on class; you will be kneading some dough, so prepare for messy hands and some fun! We will learn how to modify basic recipes such as adding oats and seeds to our bread for different flavorings. You will be able to take your dough home with you at the end of the class. There will be sourdough starter to take home as well.
