Lester E. Smith, 74, of Coplay, died Sept. 21, 2014, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit, Lehigh Valley Hospital-Allentown. He was the husband of the late Gloria A. (Traugher) Smith.

Born in Andreas, he was a son of the late Alton R. and Irma S. (Gracely) Smith.

He was in the U.S. Marine Corps during a peacetime era.

He was a truck driver for various trucking companies for many years before retiring.

He is survived by four children, Nancy J. and her husband Frank Sherman of Northampton, Cindy L. Kern of Slatington, Connie J. and her husband Garry Lindsey of Whitehall, and Scott E. Smith of Coplay; a brother, Curtis O. and his wife Margie Smith of Whitehall; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his companion of 10 years, Dottie Miller of Easton.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Leonard, Arthur and Kenneth Smith.

There will be a calling hour from 12:30-1:30 p.m., followed by the funeral at 1:30 p.m., both Sept. 26 in the funeral home, 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, 18078.
