Donald L. Sheaffer, 86, of Walnutport and formerly of Harrisburg, died Sept. 14, 2014, in the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of the late Joanne K. (Peirsol) Sheaffer.

Born in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Robert and Ada E. (Campbell) Sheaffer.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a sales representative at the former Hercules Cement Company, Stockertown, for 30 years before retiring in 1990. Before that, he was a draftsman for the former Michael Baker Company, Harrisburg, for several years.

He was a former member of the Upper Lehigh Lions Club, Schnecksville.

He is survived by three children, Patricia A. Arbitell of West Trenton, N.J., Donald L. II and his wife Deborah of East Berlin, and Diane L. and her husband Warren Kelchner of Brodheadsville; seven grandchildren, Jamie, Ryan, Jennifer, Peter, Katie, Stephanie and Lauren; and four great-grandchildren, Anna, Avery, Alivia and Rylee.

He was predeceased by a son, Scott P. Sheaffer.

Services will be private.
