According to a press release from the district, the Parkland School Board has appointed Crystal N. George as the high school assistant principal.
She is replacing Anthony Naradko, who was chosen as supervisor of transportation and safety in July.
George received a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education and English from Cedar Crest College.
She earned her Principal K-12 certificate from Moravian College and a Master of Science degree in educational technology from Wilkes University. She was an English teacher at Freedom High School in the Bethlehem Area School District for the past 18 years.
For the past year, she has also been assisting the administration during her prep periods and conducting administrative duties as an administrative intern.
She has experience developing the course schedule, disciplining students, and writing curriculum and instruction.
She has also administered the new Pennsylvania Keystone exams, a new set of standardized tests all public school students in the commonwealth must pass to graduate.
"The Parkland High School team is very excited to have Ms. George join the team," District Superintendent Richard Sniscak said. "It was evident to the interview committee she truly cares about children and is committed to their growth and achievement. "We welcome and congratulate her on this appointment."
