The Catasauqua American Legion, 330 Second St., Catasauqua, will be holding a H.O.W.L. at the Moon Oldies dances 6-11 p.m. this Saturday.

H.O.W.L. stands for "hounds on working leashes" and the event benefits emergency service dogs.

Admission includes beer, soda, chips and pretzels.

H.D. Innovation will serve as the deejay.

Join the Catasauqua Garden Club Wednesday, Sept. 3, as master gardener Linc Coffin leads a relaxed discussion about steps in putting your garden to bed.

The meeting starts 1 p.m. at the Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua.

Club projects are also due at this September meeting.

Items for judging should be in place by 12:45 p.m. so the meeting can start on time.

Garden friendly guests are always welcome.

Catasauqua Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will have a bag sale today and tomorrow.

The store will be closed for housecleaning and changeover to fall clothing the week of Sept. 2.

It will also be closed this Saturday and Monday, Sept. 1 for the Labor Day holiday.
