Camp Jefferson celebrated Week 5 with a beach theme.
The campers soaked up some sun and enjoyed the sand.
On Tuesday the camp took a break from daily pool activities and headed to Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark. The kids had lots of fun going on slides and rides, swimming in the wave pool and overlooking the epic view of the park from the Sullivan Sky ride.
Although the weather was very chilly, the campers and counselors were not reluctant to jump in. The long day ended with Dippin' Dots and other tasty snacks from the park.
On Wednesday the kids kept busy with crafts. They were able to decorate a wooden picture frame, a Chuck Taylor shoe keychain or both. Using markers the campers created unique designs and color combinations for the projects. They all looked superb. Those who did not want to participate in the craft played dodge ball.
Other days were spent playing four-square, pillow polo, basketball, Frisbee, kickball, fastest in the west, manhunt, soccer and volleyball. The kids also enjoyed having free time where they were able to play on the playground, socialize with friends and relax.
Friday was pajama day. Most campers came in their comfortable sleepwear, slippers and Snuggies. It was neat seeing all the different pajama tops and bottoms the kids wore.
To wrap things up, the camper of the week awards were given to Victoria T. and Ryan M. These two displayed excellent behavior and support for other campers. Congratulations to both.
I'm sure everyone is looking forward to another active and fun-filled week.
