,Truman Jerome Tharpe, 64, of Bethlehem and formerly of Queens, N.Y., died July 22, 2014. Born in Macon, Ga., he was a son of the late Will Tharpe and Gladys Wadley.

He was in the U.S. Army during Viet Nam.

He was a maintenance supervisor for the U.S. Post Office until retiring due to becoming disabled.

He was active in veterans organizations including the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Queens, N.Y.

He is survived by two brothers, Arthur and Walter Wadley; a sister, Emily Moore; nieces; and nephews.

Arrangements were made by James Funeral Home Inc., Bethlehem.
