Ladies, are you looking to learn more about the fabulous game of football? If so, you are in luck.

The Second Annual Whitehall Zephyr Football Moms Clinic will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Zephyr Football Stadium.

Coach Gilbert and his staff invite all moms, aunts, grandmothers and sisters to come and learn more about the game. This is your opportunity to meet the coaches and other moms and relatives of the football players and also learn a lot about the Whitehall Zephyr Football program.

The day includes breakout sessions covering offense, defense, equipment, nutrition, rules, penalties, practices, pregame and postgame. Also, the keynote speaker will be Joyce Reed-Ebling, mother of Hall of Fame inductee Andre Reed.

Ladies should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, as the sessions will include interactive drills and formations. The $30 registration fee includes lunch, an exclusive Moms Clinic T-shirt and a raffle ticket for a chance to win exciting door prizes. A limited number of tickets are available. Stop by the Whitehall High School parking lot between 8 a.m. and noon and check out the items for sale. You may find that single item you have been searching for and possibly at a bargain price too.

St. Peter Church in Coplay will be holding its annual Parish Picnic and Homecoming Sunday, Aug. 3, from noon to 10 p.m. on the church grounds at Fifth and Coplay streets.

There is great musical entertainment, delicious food and games. You are sure to run into someone you know from the community there. Bring your lawn chairs and spend a fun day at the picnic.
