LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Camp Jefferson keeps busy with laser tag, art, games

A wet and muggy Monday morning started off the third week at Camp Jefferson.

The campers liked playing multiple rounds of pillow polo inside the building until the sun finally began to dry things up at Jefferson playground.

Then the campers had the option of playing a full court basketball game or hanging out and playing on the playground. After lunch we spent the rest of humid day at the pool.

On Tuesday, before heading to Planet Trog, the field trip of the week, campers played human pinball, cops and robbers and dodgeball. At Planet Trog, campers were asked to create gamer tags for themselves. Many campers used their nicknames or their Play Station names. Overall the gamer tags the campers chose were very creative.

The campers and counselors played three games of laser tag and each received a drink and slice of pizza at Planet Trog. The campers really enjoyed spending the afternoon running around in a glow-in-the-dark setting.

Another wet morning on Wednesday kept Camp Jefferson inside playing survivor and musical chairs, and completing the craft of the week – duct tape art. Many campers knew how to make duct tape wallets, bows, bracelets and many other forms of duct tape art. The campers had numerous designs of duct tape to choose from. The styles varied from camo and gummy bear to galaxy and bright colors.

Campers had free time before lunch and then headed to the pool for the afternoon. Thursday was filled with an array of games all morning. We played a few rounds of two-hand touch football and had a mini soccer tournament. Campers then had the choice of going to play a full court basketball game or having free time back at the building. For those campers who stayed back for free time they also had the option of playing a crazy game of six-square which was four-square but with six players, or playing with a volleyball and seeing how many times a group of campers and some counselors could keep it in the air before it hit the ground. Some campers also created a mini soccer game by drawing a chalked goal on the side of the building and playing games. Campers then enjoyed another nice afternoon at Jefferson pool.

Friday was Neon Day. Both campers and counselors participated by wearing the brightest color they have. Some campers were even covered from head to toe in neon. It was awesome to see how much neon everyone had on.

On Friday, we played games like fastest in the west, manhunt and, of course, the campers' all-time favorite, dodgeball. A few campers also made more duct tape art with the leftover duct tape from Wednesday.

Before heading to the pool, we ended week three by announcing our Campers of the Week, Amaya and Ben. Congrats on having an awesome week!
