Camp Cementon gets funky
Week three at Camp Cementon had lots of laughs and fun.
The theme was "funky" for this week. Even though we had a wet day and had to stay inside on Tuesday without going to the pool, the campers still had fun playing a variety of games and making crafts. The one craft we made was designing anything of your choice with paint on a plastic plate or construction paper. We played dodge ball, human pinball, jump the river and more.
On Tuesday, our other craft was tie-dye. The kids brought out their artistic skills and made the coolest tie-dye shirts. On Wednesday, we were blessed with a beautiful day for miniature golf. We went to Spring Hill Golf in Schnecksville, and the campers had a blast. The campers were better golfers than our counselors. Elijah P. came close to a hole-in-one several times.
After we golfed, Spring Hill Golf provided us with lunch and ice cream. Then we got back to camp and went to the pool for the rest of the afternoon. The campers had a fun day being outside in the beautiful weather.
On Thursday, we spent most of the day outside.
Ben W. took "funky" to a new level wearing his striped blue and white socks.
The kids got their tie-dye shirts back to wash and wear for the next day. Friday was "Tie Dye Day," and the kids' shirts turned out so well.
One in particular was Naseer W. His shirt was a mix of purple and black with the perfect tie-dye swirl.
Just like every Friday we have a boy and girl Camper of the Week. The two that won the award were Malakai M and Rachael C. They received the award for awesome and stellar behavior all week. The third week was highly successful and we're all looking forward to next week for more fun!
