Bill Sabol, secretary for the Hokendauqua Park & Playground Association, has announced that the 2014 HPPA - Bob Warke/Dale Horn Memorial Scholarships were recently awarded to Cortney Vrabel and Ryan Bonshak.
These two $1,000 scholarships are awarded to male and female HPPA sports participants who have graduated from high school and will continue their education at a university, college or trade school.
Criteria for scholarship selection include high school academic performance, extracurricular activities and community service.
The scholarships are funded by HPPA's annual Bob Warke/Dale Horn Basketball Tournament held at the end of the basketball season and through donations by friends of the HPPA who want to keep the spirit of Bob Warke and Dale Horn in youth sports.
