Third grade students at Weisenberg Elementary School recently studied the three components of poetry: rhyme, rhythm and repetition.
They also explored the use of personification, onomatopoeia, alliteration, similes and metaphor.
As part of this study, the students wrote their poems in their writers' notebooks.
They then published their poems through Google Docs on both laptops and Chromebooks.
For some of their work, the students were able to work together with partners to create couplets.
They presented their poems in front of their peers and classroom teacher Beth Stark.
Many of the students dressed in costumes of various poets to read their poems.
