It's time to register to have your house in the Patriotic Home Decorating Contest sponsored by the J4 Committee. The decorations may be bunting, ribbons, flowers, figures, pictures, lights and flags. They must be visible from the street and the American flag must be prominently displayed.

Register at the North Catasauqua or Catasauqua municipal offices or by calling Joe Tognoli at 610-264-4130. He needs a name, address and phone number for each entry. The deadline for registration is July 4. Judging will be completed by 2 p.m. July 5, and award winners will be announced at the J4 fireworks Saturday night at Alumni Field.

The J4 Celebration will take place at the North Catasauqua Park on July 5, following the parade.

A fun round-robin tennis tournament will be held on Sunday, June 29, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Fuller tennis courts at the Catasauqua Park. This is in conjunction with all the events for Old Home Week. Participants must be at least 15 years of age. The cost is $1. Advance registration is required by calling Nin Snyder at 610-264-4328. Following the round robin, the Suburban North YMCA is having a pickelball playoff. Many other Old Home Week activities are happening at the park that day as well.

The North Catasauqua Betterment Committee will be hosting a series of car cruises at the borough park this summer. Check out displays of classic and antique cars on the first Monday of each month, July 7, Aug. 4 and Sept. 1, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Food, door prizes, a raffle and music add to the fun at these free events.
