Coplay Sports Inc. is holding its 23rd annual community fund drive.

Although the organization is not setting a fund drive goal, donors are recognized on three levels.

The presidents club is for those contributing $25 or more; honorary directors are those donating $10-24; friends of Coplay Sports give $5.

Coplay Sports provides girls and boys baseball, softball and basketball at all skill levels and supports the annual Christmas parade.

In its message to the community, the organization noted its 2014 needs which include installing a retaining wall for a spectator area at the lower field, purchase of new uniforms and equipment and replacing netting over the upper field backstop.

The fund drive has enabled the purchase of new training aids for its athletic programs and general maintenance repairs to the field use exterior.

The Coplay Town Watch seeks donations to offset the costs of its 20th annual National Night Out Against Crime (NNO) Aug. 5 at the American Club of Coplay pavilion.

The group seeks sponsors for the following items, $50 each for two bicycles to be given as prizes, $100 for entertainment by Tootsie the Clown, $100 for music by a deejay, $75 for a 20th anniversary birthday cake, $40 for soda, $90 for hot dogs, $40 for watermelon, $100 for a moon bounce, $25 each for six kids games, and $150 for five NNO banners.

No amount is too small. Those who donate will have their names in the NNO program and it will be read during the speakers program. Sponsors are also welcome to remain anonymous.
