Catasauqua Column
It is almost time for residents of Catasauqua and North Catasauqua to come together to show their patriotism by taking part in the joyous J4 celebration.
The J4 Committee is made up of volunteers planning this year's celebration to take place Saturday, July 5, at the North Catasauqua Playground. The event kicks off with a parade at 9:30 a.m. followed by an opening ceremony. The rain date is July 6.
Individuals or groups of people interested in having a float or walking in the parade are needed. Call Dennis Kisthart, 610-266-5144, if interested.
The parade forms at 9 a.m. at Howertown Road and Union Street in Catasauqua and goes out Howertown Road to the North Catasauqua Playground. Food stands, music, craft tables, flea market articles and games for adults and children will be part of the celebration.
A Mega Catasauqua High School Class Reunion will be sponsored by the Catasauqua Old Home Week Committee. The fireworks are scheduled at dusk, approximately 9 p.m.
